The rubber tree gave the Amazon its most extraordinary century. Before dawn, seringueiros cut thin lines into the bark and collected the white latex drop by drop. That sap built the opera house in Manaus and later made Chico Mendes a defender of the forest. The seringueira is still tapped today by people who live alongside it.
Dewy leaves and tree sap meet milky latex, guaiac and papyrus, then settle into soft leather, musk and pale smoke. Raw, tactile, between the botanical and the industrial.
